Fajas of Sao Jorge

Fajãs is a piece of land originated by the crumbling of rocks and soil from the cliffs, caused by earthquakes, or by the lava that came down the mountains until it reached the sea.
S. Jorge island is considered to be the only one with most fajãs spread throughout its coast, being around forty six fajãs already catalogued.
